Casseopedia is useless without a constant stream of information!  At the bottom of this page, you will find a space where you can comment here to contribute links to some of your favorite blogs.  Cass will have no problem adding blogs to the blogroll provided that they are:

1)  Related to topics of the blog:  International Relations, Politics, Sociology, Criminology, Psychology, History or Philosophy.  (Exceptions:  Literary blogs, Science blogs, Technology blogs.  However, these exceptions will likely be very rare.)

2)  Well-Written.  Please do not send me blogs by people who write like they didn’t get past Ninth Grade English.  Please do not send me blogs by people who just drop a link and add a tiny bit of commentary most of the time.  If I want to get linked around a great deal, I’m not going to go to some random guy’s blog.  I’ve got Fark.com for that.

3)  Not political fringe.  Look, it’s not that I think the mainstream of politics is the best thing ever.  However, I don’t want to read blog posts every week from some dude who thinks Obama’s a secret muslim who was born in Kenya and eats babies.  But this goes for the left-wing, too.  There’s a reason I don’t link to Radical Feminist blogs (with the possible exception of Jill/Twisty at I Blame The Patriarchy), and its because Radfems are.. well, Radical.  Not that it’s not a good thing that SOMEONE is (thank heavens for Jill/Twisty), but some Radfems right now are running into a great deal of “if the theory conflicts with reality, then reality is wrong” territory.

4)  Interesting or Humorous.  It can be one, it can be both, but it can never be neither.  If you link me to a boring dry blog that provides lots of statistics and raw data with little commentary, I might find it useful for myself, but not necessarily for the purpose of a blog roll.

Note: I am interested in adding blogs from a right-wing perspective.  I love seeing what’s popping up from that side of things, because it adds an additional dimension to an issue.   (Still send in the left-wing blogs, too!)

Note #2: Don’t use this list as some kind of reason NOT to contribute a given link.  Your interpretation of my standards may very well be different from my actual judgments.  I provide the list only as a guide for understanding why I might not add a link.  As I posted under the blogroll: the inclusion, or lack thereof, of any blog implies neither an endorsement nor an endorsement of the content of the site linked (or not linked).

So, send ‘em in!

(Comments containing pages added to the blogroll will be deleted to prevent overfilling the page.)
